My story

 

From a Dutch father and an English speaking mother, I came into existence in a town on the Seine riverside.
 

  • Since no one spoke French at home, Dutch and English were spoken daily.
     

 

When I was about 5 years old, the professional hazards of my parents transferred us to Holland.
 

  • During 3 years, with English at home, I spoke Dutch being totally immersed in the country
     

 

We returned to France and I continued to follow my scholarship at the International College of German en Laye

  • Lessons were in French with Dutch and English options
     

 

In order to prepare a Human behavior course, in 1974, I entered at the High school American Education in Luxembourg - Management, secretary and language options -
 

  • Each weekend and during school vacations, I returned to my mother’s family, native from Sussex
     


In 1976, I pursued my studies in the US where I prepared an outdoor recreation management degree

  • The subject of my exam went on luxury winter leisure, management and development
     
  • It is the town Evian in the Haute Savoie that gave me the opportunity to present a project of bilingual skiing leisure program 

 

During my studies at the International University of San Diego (California), I taught French grammars and conjugating, to the 2 children of an American film producer who moved regularly to Switzerland.
 

 

At 25, I returned to Hilversum, Netherlands, my father’s roots. Very soon, faced to the job market, I joined a construction company where most of my time was spend to speak, to dialogue and converse in my three languages.
 

  • During those years, I acquired written en oral multilingual automatisms while specializing in finishings and fittings

     

Invited in Sologne by a family relation, I left the Netherlands. Speaking three languages, my friend appointed me for the reception of his guests and invitees during hunting’s, called chasse à courre

Aside these tasks, I was in charge to prepare the horses for these hunting’s. 



After 5 years of exiting experience and regarding my university course, a French car brand dealer suggested and appointed me manager for his new cars fleet in the area around Paris

  • The park consisted of thousand vehicles, I managed the stocks, the reception of clients, lay orders schemes, observed the objectives and handled discords. I had in charge seven non French speaking employees



Seven years later, I challenge to professionalize my hobby and achieved the goal of becoming an art ironworker. My accreditation gained at A.F.P.A, I met and worked with the compagnons du devoir, the artistry craft centre Périgny, and the great names of art ironwork, Bernard Roos, Alain Pradignac, Bernard Reboutier

  • During six years, daily I gave expression of my art.
  • Today I perform for those who kept faith and trusted me.
     

 

Then I aimed the management of a multi complex service, of taxable products and derivatives.

  • revenue : 4.000 € a day
  • 1500 liter a day of Petroleum products exempt tobacco

    I was daily faced with the French administration and tax authorities


The Loches area is advantaged by a large English and Dutch tourist potential, so, on a sign it was written Here we speak English and Dutch

 

Translation has always existed in my professional and private life

 

  • Whether imposed work, taking notes, edit reports and documents in French, English and Dutch
     

For example, I am consistently asked as linguist during congresses, the latest dating 2008
- Montreal, Canada
- Carrara, Italy
among ten nationalities
- Each year in Amsterdam
 

Half a century to phrase, to write, to teach and trade in 3 languages,
I certified my level and passed the tests
 

  • The results testify I am a Dutch, English and French translator
